How it works

A carousel people actually finish.

The same four steps behind every carousel that travels — whether you design it by hand or with Carousify.

  1. 01

    Pick one idea

One carousel, one point. A clear angle beats ten loosely related slides every time.

  2. 02

    Write the hook first

Slide one earns the swipe. Lead with the tension or the promise, not your logo.

  3. 03

    Design for the feed

Get the dimensions right — 1080×1350 for LinkedIn, 1080×1080 for Instagram — and keep text large.

  4. 04

    Post, then read the data

Watch swipe-through and saves, not just likes. Repeat the hooks that hold attention.

  • Templates sized for LinkedIn and Instagram out of the box
  • One-click scheduling for profiles and company pages
  • Analytics that track saves, swipes, and conversions
Reader questions

Five questions about making carousels.

The ones creators ask most — answered straight, with the sizes and tactics that actually move a post.

01What size should a LinkedIn carousel be?

Upload a PDF where each page is 1080×1350 px (4:5 portrait). LinkedIn shows document posts in a tall frame, so portrait slides take up the most feed space and are easiest to read on mobile. Square 1080×1080 also works if you are reusing Instagram slides.

02What size should an Instagram carousel be?

Use 1080×1350 px (4:5 portrait) for the most screen space, or 1080×1080 px (square) when you want a tidier grid. Instagram supports up to 20 slides per carousel. Keep important text away from the very edges so nothing gets cropped.

03Do carousels really get more reach?

On both LinkedIn and Instagram, carousels usually earn more dwell time than single images because each swipe is a small re-engagement signal. The driver is not the format itself — it is a strong first slide that makes people swipe. A weak hook kills a carousel no matter how many slides it has.

04What is the fastest way to make a carousel?

Start from a template instead of a blank canvas. Carousify turns a topic, blog post, or YouTube video into a finished, correctly-sized carousel for LinkedIn and Instagram, so you skip the layout work entirely. Our LinkedIn carousel guide walks through the whole process.

05How many slides should a carousel have?

Six to ten is the sweet spot for most posts. Enough room to make one point properly, short enough that people reach the last slide and your call to action. Save longer carousels for genuine step-by-step or list content where each slide earns its place.
